Tom paused for her to answer. When she did not, he continued. “You’d look good in blue, so I’ll guess you like sapphires and other blue stones.”

Where’s the help grandmother is supposed to be sending me?” wondered Sharon. “Surely it should be arriving soon.

Just then Tom stumbled into Sharon knocking her to the ground.

“Oh, I’m sorry,” he said, reaching out a hand to help her up.

As she scrambled to her feet and tried to move around him, he blocked her way.

“I need the necklace your grandfather gave you. Just hand it over,” he demanded, “and no one will get hurt.”
