Have you ever thought about how we’ve got Greek, Roman, or Norse myths explaining weather patterns, but no stories to explain how and why we’ve developed the technology we have? Welcome to Modern Myths – Creativity, the first in a series of Modern Myth stories.
Carmen says:
Several months ago, I had the – ahem – opportunity (read: assignment) to write my own mythology stories. The only guideline was that they be related to modern life. They’re pretty short, and I enjoyed working on them. I’ve got some ideas for more, if these are popular – so let me know if you like them!
Of course, I might write more anyway – but positive feedback would give them a higher priority.
This week’s prompt: We’ve come a long way, progressing from mounted messengers to telegraph wires to telephones and cell phones. What led to the invention of one system of communication in favor of another? Write your own myth that tells why some form of communication came into being.
