“Since then, they have developed a mixture which they say, and I believe, will erase from the minds of those humans all memory of this place. Since you have some understanding of this world and our ways, we will alter it so that you may retain your memories, if you so desire.”

“I understand,” you say. “However, won’t they notice the difference in time between when they left home and when they return?”

The queen and Anne laugh. “Time is somewhat different from us than you, you may have noticed,” Anne explains. “Those of us, like myself, who can alter the flow of time can affect time in ways you can hardly imagine. It is a simple matter to have you and your people arrive back at the ‘haunted house’ of your world

 

 

 mere moments after they left.”

“What is the mixture, exactly?” you ask the queen. “How does it work?”

“It is a liquid that is to be spread over the path that leads to the link. Your people will walk across the area where it is spread, and by the time they return to your world, they should have no memory after coming to the haunted house. We will tamper with it so that it will not affect you.”

You nod again; that sounds good to you.

“Thank you for helping me.”

“Thank you for–”
